Joel C. Gelbman DDS

Dr. Gelbman attended New York University College of Dentistry graduating with his Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) degree in 1967. He also received a certification in Prosthodontics in 1971 from New York University College of Dentistry.
Continuing his education, Dr. Gelbman completed a Fellowship in Implantology in 1984 from Brookdale Medical Center. Dr. Gelbman is Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Gelbman is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the New Jersey Dental School.
He is a member of the following organizations:

Our Professional Staff
Dr. Evan A. Lynn
Dr. Lynn is a graduate of Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2000. He completed a residency in general dentistry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in 2001. He than completed a residency in Endodontics at NYU College of Dentistry in 2005. He is presently enrolled in a fellowship program in Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry. He specializes in endodontics (root canal therapy).
Dr. Irina Shapira
Dr. Shapira received her post graduate training in periodontics at Columbia University in 1995. She also completed a two-year fellowship in Implant Dentistry at the New York University College of Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Shapira also teaches and is a clinical assistant professor in the department of Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry. Since 1995, she has specialized in periodontics.
Dr. Ernest Rodriguez
Dr. Rodriguez is a graduate of New Jersey Dental School in 1998 with a degree of Doctor of Medical Dentistry. He then completed a two-year residency in general dentistry at VA medical center. His undergraduate research was published in the Journal Endodontics. He is trained in the use of both hard and soft tissue lasers. He practices general dentistry.
Dr. Lester B. Burman
Dr. Burman is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He did a general dentistry rotating internship at the VA Medical Center. He also is a Charter member of American Academy of Laser Dentistry and a past president of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has been certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry for proficiency in using a dental laser. He has been in practice in Roselle Park, NJ for 35 years.
Dr. John Refaat
Dr. Refaat graduated from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine with Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. He than continued his education at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center completing a General Practice Residency in 2005. He is now a clinical instructor in general dentistry in the residency program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He loves to travel, play soccer, squash, racquetball and is into body building. He practices general dentistry.
Dr. Ramona Kennedy
Dr. Kennedy graduated from Montclair State University with a B.S. in biology and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to get her DMD degree from UMDNJ/New Jersey Dental School. She was president of the Prosthodontic Honor Society and a member of the New Jersey Dental Association and the American Dental Association. She volunteered her time during her training to help bring dental health and awareness to underprivileged children, battered/abused women and handicapped individuals. After graduation she continued her education with a General Practice Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and she is still affiliated there as an associate professor. She practices general dentistry.
